Slimming World KFC Style Chicken

Slimming World KFC Style Chicken is a healthier alternative to the classic fast food dish. Tender chicken breasts are boiled to perfection and coated with a flavorful sauce and crunchy breadcrumbs. Ingredients:

4 x Chicken Breast

1 x Jar Chicken Bovril

1 tsp Garlic Puree

2 tsp Black Pepper

2 tsp Mixed Spice

1 tsp Chilli Powder

4 Slices of Whole meal Bread

2 tsp Mixed Herbs

Instructions:

Start by boiling a pot of water. Add the chicken breasts to the boiling water and let them cook for 30 minutes. To enhance the flavor, add some chicken Bovril or stock powder to the water. Stir it in and allow the chicken to continue boiling.

While the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce. In a jug, combine a jar of chicken Bovril, an egg, garlic puree, black pepper, mixed spice, and chili powder. Stir the ingredients together until well mixed, creating a sauce-like consistency.

For the breadcrumbs, take four slices of wholemeal bread and remove the crusts. Use a cheese grater to grate the bread into fine crumbs. Check for any large lumps and crush them further to ensure an even texture.

Once the chicken is cooked, turn off the heat and drain the water. Place the boiled chicken in a reasonably sized dish, ensuring they are spaced out nicely.

Coat each chicken breast with the prepared sauce, aiming for an even coating on each piece.

After coating with the sauce, sprinkle the chicken breasts evenly with the breadcrumbs. Make sure the breadcrumbs adhere well to the sauce-coated chicken.

Preheat the oven to around 200 degrees Celsius (390 degrees Fahrenheit). Place the coated chicken in the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.

Once cooked, remove the KFC-style chicken from the oven. Serve it alongside a side dish of your choice, such as a salad or oven-baked chips, for a delicious and satisfying meal. Enjoy the flavorful and healthier version of this classic dish.
