For the Bolognese Sauce:

1 finely chopped onion

1 stick of celery, finely chopped

1 finely chopped carrot

2 minced garlic cloves

500 g of lean beef mince

1 can (400g) of chopped tomatoes

2 tablespoons of tomato puree

1/2 tablespoon of dark soy sauce

1 beef stock cube or stockpot

1 tablespoon of sweetener (e.g., Stevia)

1 teaspoon of dried oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

Low-calorie cooking spray

For the White Sauce:

150 g of Primula Original cheese spread

125 ml of semi-skimmed milk

30 g of grated cheddar cheese

Additional Ingredients:

Lasagne sheets

100 g of torn mozzarella cheese

60 g of grated cheddar cheese

Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish


Finely dice the onion, celery, carrot, and garlic.

In a roomy non-stick pan with a lid, spray low-calorie cooking spray and sauté the diced vegetables over medium heat until softened approximately 5 minutes.

In a separate frying pan, spritzed with low-calorie cooking spray, brown the lean beef mince on high heat while breaking apart clumps. Remove any excess fat.

Combine the sautéed vegetables with the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, beef stock cube, dark soy sauce, sweetener, dried oregano, salt, and pepper in the same pan. Thoroughly mix.

Integrate the cooked beef mince into the vegetable mixture, stirring well. Let it simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes, occasionally stirring.

While the bolognese sauce simmers, craft the white sauce. In a small saucepan, meld the Primula Original cheese spread and semi-skimmed milk over low heat, stirring until fully combined. Incorporate 30g of grated cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and resulting in a smooth white sauce with medium consistency.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a medium-sized baking dish, commence layering the lasagne. Begin with half of the bolognese sauce, followed by a layer of lasagne sheets. Pour half of the white sauce over the pasta layer.

Repeat the layering process with the remaining bolognese sauce, another layer of lasagne sheets, and the remainder of the white sauce.

Crown the lasagne with torn mozzarella pieces and sprinkle the remaining grated cheddar cheese over the top.

Place the baking dish on a tray (to catch spills) and bake in the preheated oven for around 40 minutes, or until the lasagne bubbles and achieves a golden top.
